York Babymoon

So to celebrate coming up to our final trimester and my gorgeous husband's birthday we took a trip to York for the night. We stayed in a beautiful hotel right next to the York Minster and we went on a lovely boat tour of York which was so romantic and sweet.
It was an all round awesome trip and we saw some lovely things and ate some amazing food...here's a few photos from that weekend!

So we had an amazing little trip and I bought the most beautiful Beatrix Potter door hanger that says 'Lily's Room' on it and has Jemima Puddleduck sat next to it...its gorgeous and I love love love Beatrix Potter so much.

Anyway, not much of an update but I've been very busy planning my mum's wedding which is this Saturday so I will update with lots of pics and my 28 week bump pic! Very exciting times!

Kicks and Smiles

So on Tuesday, I had my 20 week scan at the hospital and they revealed that we are having a baby girl ^_^ which obviously I am very excited about, she will be called Lily Rose Lomas when she pops out hehe.
Straight after the scan, my mum and I couldn't resist but do a bit of shopping and we ended up buying the cutest girly clothing in the world.

I also bought Lily's pram last Friday which will be delivered by Mothercare to my mums house a few weeks before Lily is born. It's a Travel System which means that it comes with a car seat that you can attach to the pram for when the baby is newborn and still use the pram without it.
I really like the pram because its mainly black so it means buying accessories for it is alot easier, it has an adjustable handle so if my mum was pushing it she could have it lower than I would.
It also comes with a rain cover which as you should know, will come in very handy for those wet days.
I am very chuffed (happy) with my purchase as it was only £120 for all of it including free delivery to our house.

We nearly have everything we will need for when Lily is born already as my mum and auntie went a bit mad and bought mountains of clothes, nappies, bath stuff, wipes, etc and my mum also bought a baby bath and a bouncer. We got a moses basket for free and Rob and I have bought the sheets/covers for that and I got a changing bag free from Boots so we are pretty much covered the only things left to get now are a changing mat, breastfeeding tools and some more bibs.

I am really looking forward to being a mum and I know Rob will make an amazing dad, he already talks to Lily every day when he gets home from work and she's started responding to his voice by moving alot more and kicking alot when he talks.

Anyway, I am just chattering on so I will love and leave you for now but no doubt I will be nattering on about Lily in all my posts for the next few months.

  • Feeling pretty and comfortable in my own skin
  • Talking/singing and reading to my baby
  • Seeing Rob's face light up when he touches the bump
Dislikes

Im sure there are more things but I can't think right now what they are. I do love being pregnant and I love that I'm going to have a beautiful baby in 20 weeks and I'm sure I'm not the only mum to be that is scared of what the next few months will bring in fact what the next 18 years will bring!

Round bellies and Exciting news!

Hi everyone, I'm not going to apologise for being a bad blogger as I do this every post so you already know how sorry I am...
I am going to update when I feel I have something to say about my life/loves etc.

So with that in mind I would like to show you how big I am already and I'm only 17 weeks 4days pregnant.
Taken at 16 weeks (please ignore the washing pile in the kitchen)
I have been in maternity bottoms now for over a month as they're the only bottoms I seem to feel comfortable in.
I love vintage fashion but I cannot find anything cheap that still looks good from the vintage/repro world. If you have any advice please let me know!!

On another note, I had an antenatal appointment yesterday and I got to go to the hospital where I will be having my baby for the first time. I have never seen so many expectant mothers in the same room in all my life and all at different stages of their pregnancy, it was quite a sight!
The maternity wing of the hospital was lovely, all the nurses we're so helpful and talkative and everyone just seemed happy and so nice so I felt very at ease. I went with my mother in law as my husband started a new job on Monday and couldn't come along to this appointment so I thought it would be nice if his mum came as she is unbelievably excited about our baby.
We had a scan first and they confirmed my baby's final due date is the 13th August and the sonographer had a look to make sure that the baby is growing well and then she had a look to see if we could see the sex of the baby, now the sonographer isn't 100% sure and will confirm at my next scan at the end of the month but she thinks......it's a girl!!!!!!
So I'm gunna have a beautiful baby girl which I am so so excited about. I'm obviously trying not to be majorly over excited because it might not be a girl but still.

So here is the latest pic of our baby girl, she yawned on the scan and it was the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life and then she started sucking her thumb, I love her so much already!
17 weeks and 3 days ^__^

After we had the scan I had some blood tests in the main part of the hospital, it was very strange...the hospital is so different from any Ive ever seen before, it looked like an airport departure lounge with the seating, shops, cafes etc and you couldn't even see where the corridors were to get to the actual wards of the hospital, I ended up having to ask directions at the help desk.

On another note, I am so glad to be back home with my mum and dad and all of our family/friends. I feel so much better knowing Ive got such a big support system for our first baby and everyone is so excited to welcome a little one into the world.
I think my mum is the most excited as she's turning the spare room into a nursery for the baby which we're hopefully going to get started very soon because I love to decorate and am very excited to do some nesting.
Anyway, I am rambling on so I'm gunna go watch some TV with my mum and talk about our plans for the nursery.

Au Revoir everyone!

So long, farewell!

Okay so as you may have read, I am currently 15 weeks pregnant with my first ever baby! eeeek so exciting!
As we have alot changing at the moment I haven't been able to update my blog as much as I'd like however, we are moving back to Sheffield, UK to be with our family at this exciting time! We have packed everything up today and we sail on the ferry to Heysham this evening and will drive back to our hometown.

I am going to miss living on the Isle of Man and most of all I'm going to miss my best friend over here Jade Boylan, she has been so lovely to me these past 8 months and made me feel so welcome (plus we have an incredible amount in common and she's a fantastic shopping buddy!)

Jade and I met up on Friday to say our goodbyes and have one last lunch at the Alpine and one last shopping day.
As it's my birthday on 22nd Feb, Jade had bought me some lovely presents which she just so happened to take photos of!
Lovely Gift Bag, perfect pin up!!
Very excited about my new presents!
Gorgeous Presents!!

I want to thank Jade lots and lots for my fantabulous presents, they are beautiful and Jade has made my time on the island very memorable and I'm uber grateful!!

Will be back to update you within the next couple of weeks once we have settled in back home!

Neglect.

I sincerely apologise I have been a very bad blogger recently!
I have been going through alot as we've been having tests and scans and also Im moving back home to Sheffield, UK so we've been trying to get ready for that.
But some pics to show you our growing baby should help you forgive me hehe!

So now I am 13 weeks and 5 glorious days along with my pregnancy and I am being utterly impatient as I want to meet my beautiful baby now!
I will be finding out in March what the sex of the baby is so will update you on that.
And at the moment my blogs will be quite scarce as I mentioned before with us moving home etc so please forgive me and I will update as much as possible over the next few weeks!

Au Revoir!

Weddings and hair cuts.

So last weekend I went to my dear friend's Tom and Belinda's wedding.
It was a fabulous day and the day before I had decided to get my hair all cut off and restyled. I havent had my hair cut by a hairdresser since I was about 15 and the only style I had was long so I thought 'Lets go for something completely different'.
There are two reasons I decided on short: a) I'm pregnant and shorter hair is so much more manageable especially when I'm suffering from morning sickness. b) I wanted an actual style because my hair was so boring before and just sort of hung there.
So here are a few pics of me and my lovely husband with our new hairstyles at the wedding.

This is also the first 'outfit post' I have ever done so here goes:
Earrings: Peacocks
Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Evans

Apologies and Announcements.

9 weeks!
First of all, I would like to apologise to the people out there that read my humble little blog. I haven't posted much recently and now I can reveal why:

I'm going to be a mummy!
I've been quite ill with morning sickness for a good few weeks now and I've just been way too unwell to post anything and if I'm honest I had to keep myself away to stop me from telling the world because I'm so so excited!

This is my first baby and I am a mix of emotions at the moment: I'm very happy, excited, scared, etc.
If anyone has any advice about pregnancy or motherhood I would very much like to hear it! I know that Brittany at Va-Voom Vintage is also going to be a mummy again and I've been reading her posts which have been very helpful!

I've had some amazing support from my friends and family since we found out and I am very grateful to everybody. I know its going to be hard but my husband and I have been trying for this for 9 months and I could not be any happier than I am right now. My little family is coming together!

Au Revoir!
